The Regular Season in Regionalliga just started. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Fellbach defeated Licher Basket at home 78-71. Fellbach forced 22 Licher Basket turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fellbach made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Andre Gillette who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Center Andreas Kronhardt (205-1989) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Yannik Ribbecke (197-1997) answered with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds for Licher Basket. Licher Basket will play next round against Reutlingen trying to get back on the winning streak. Fellbach will try to continue on its current victory against Kronberg on the road.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of WSG Koenigs in Wildau. Hosts were defeated by Bergedorf 78-60. Bergedorf will play against Neustadt TSV at home in the next round. WSG Koenigs will play against Bargteheide and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game was also tough home loss of Bensheim in a game versus undefeated Mannheim 94-88. Albert Kuppe nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Mannheim’s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Tilman Isensee came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for Bensheim in the defeat. Mannheim will meet at home Limburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bensheim will play against Stuttgart and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Other games in round 1 were not that significant.
In North Bargteheide lost to Potsdam RH on the road 81-85. Rendsburg lost to Berlin BG 2000 on its own court 65-66. Stade lost to Neustadt TSV in a road game 70-90. Aschersleben rolled over Westerstede at home 83-55. Goetting.ASC lost to Braunschweig on the opponent’s court 83-84.
In South-West Reutlingen lost to Stuttgart in a home game 70-83. Tuebingen 2 lost to Langen on the road 64-87. Ulm BBU 01 outscored Kronberg on its own court 109-66. Soeflingen rolled over Limburg in Ulm 92-72. Saarlouis defeated Giessen Ak. at home 64-58.
The most impressive performance of 1st round was 29 points and 23 rebounds by Terry Winn III of Giessen Ak..

Group North

Wusterhausen — Bergedorf 60-78

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of WSG Koenigs in Wildau. Hosts were defeated by Bergedorf 78-60. Bergedorf will play against Neustadt TSV at home in the next round. WSG Koenigs will play against Bargteheide and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Potsdam RH — Bargteheide 85-81

Potsdam RH used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from 85-81 on Saturday night. Potsdam RH will meet Berlin BG 2000 on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bargteheide will play against WSG Koenigs and hope to win that game.

But Rendsburg was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Berlin 66-65 on Saturday night. Berlin BG 2000 will meet at home Potsdam RH in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Rendsburg will play against Westerstede and hope to win that game.

Naturalized Russian Albert Kuppe (200-1988) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-1992) accounted for 25 points and 7 rebounds. Mannheim’s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power forward Tilman Isensee (206-1987) came up with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks and Felix Becker added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Bensheim in the defeat. Five Mannheim and four Bensheim players scored in double figures. Mannheim will meet at home Limburg in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bensheim will play against Stuttgart and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
